iMovie

iMovie iMovie is fantastic for student engagement. It is deigned well and is intuitive. Most students will be able to navigate it with ease. Students are thrilled with their final product because they make it simple to produce a quality piece. It can be a great assessment piece as it requires students to show what they know in a different way. It may seem easy, but to create a something that demonstrates their understanding requires them to have generalized the knowledge and produce it in a new way. I have a few students in particular who have really taken to iMovie. They can create a trailer for a movie, or a short movie. Right now I have students in the middle of creating and iMovie on jobs that they do around the school and informational videos. It hits so many outcomes and supports generalization of concepts and skills. It fits in with the modification level or the SAMR model.
